Thousands of faithful Join Good Friday Procession in Mombasa.

On Friday 15th, Catholic faithful joined other christians worldwide to mark Good Friday.

Good Friday is a solemn day commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.

However, Christians around the world observe this day with great humility and reverence.

In the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa there was a big turn out for Christ’s Faithful to commemorate the day at the Holy Ghost Cathedral.

Led by the Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa Very Rev. Fr Armogast Mdawida, the Crowd pushed through the streets, with some bearing wooden crosses, singing hymns and reading from the Gospels, as they retraced the footsteps of Jesus to the 14 Stations of the Cross.

Fr. Mdawida urged christians to be unafraid in showing the world their passion for their Faith.

“Let us join Jesus who walked humbly, justly and lovingly, Every step we take is a commitment to the value of life that Jesus offers to all,” he said.

He further termed the celebration as one that brings the bible to life adding that It’s very exciting to put the physical reality with what you’ve read all these years.

Furthermore, thousands of Christians are expected to crowd into the Cathedral on Sunday for Easter Mass that will be presided over by His Grace Archbishop Martin Kivuva.
